I’m just back from a walk by the River Thames with Roly, my cocker spaniel. The quality of the light, & early morning sunshine on the water is amazing. The weeping willows are lime green, & look like they’re sweeping the banks in the breeze. The scent from the lime trees is heavenly. The hawthorn is in flower & the elms have rigid, little leaves appearing.
We saw this gorgeous lilac, overhanging from the garden of Adam Afriye’s house. I love these early morning walks, when you don’t see a soul – or maybe just a fellow dog walker, & you feel at one with nature. It’s soul food for me.
