Chelsea Flower Show

I watched the setting up of t

The Chelsea Flower Show on TV the other night. The concept of transplanting a whole garden temporarily is quite scary. Some plants are so fragile, & the gardeners are wholly dependent upon the landscapers to provide a good base for the planting. Huge lorries bring large trees to the site, the ground is excavated, & the flowers are tended day & night.

I saw these lovely hickory dickory dock seeded dandelions in on of the gardens, & the commentator’s comment was “whatever next”. Seen as a weed in our gardens, they are, nevertheless soo beautiful. It reminds me of my early childhood, & of blowing the littel segments into the air so they floeat like little fairies!

There will be a profusion of summer flowers at Chelsea. Let’s hope the rain stays off!
