Happy New Year

ranunculaeHappy New Year to you all. I hope 2014 brings peace & exciting new ventures.
It’s a lovely idea to send flowers at the beginning of a new year. We use lots of fresh green & white flowers, with birch & pussy willow in bud. Desperate to see the first signs of winter merging into spring, we all love to see the bright green shades now available. I’m looking forward to seeing the first snowdrops in the local churchyard, followed by primroses – and that beautiful magnolia tree with its furry, pointed buds, followed by huge white blooms that are unfortunately blackened by the inevitable frosts.
Ranunculus is in the buttercup family. Typical of spring flowers, it has little foliage & lovely, curly stems.
